Lesson 5: Tableau CRM Dashboard Navigation ๐ ๐ ๐
Meet Tableau CRM Dashboards
A dashboard is an interactive collection of widgets that show query results from our data, whether that data comes from inside or outside Salesforce.
Get Down to Details
- Open the navigation list and select Opportunity Details.
Right away you note the Open Pipeline KPI โ this is something you want to keep an eye on. The funnel chart is an easy-to-read indication of which percentage of our business is in which stage. The line chart shows you the business over time. The stacked bar chart gives you an overview of each repโs opportunities, and how theyโre doing against quota. The table below the charts shows details. - Click Won in the Stage toggle, and then click Open. Notice the dashboard comes alive as all the widgets change, thanks to faceting.

Stay on Top of Your Business with Tableau CRM Notifications
Put the Tableau CRM Home Page to Work for You
- Click the small, blue Analytics link above the dashboard title.
- Click Notifications in the left panel.
Because youโve set a notification, you have a notification tile on your home page! The tile shows the current value of the KPI and your progress toward the set conditions.
3. From the tile, you can go directly to the dashboard. Click Open Pipeline Test. The dashboard opens showing the notification in the panel on the right, and the notificationโs widget is identified with a number in a blue square.
4. You can also access the notifications panel from the icon controls. Go ahead and click
to close the notification panel. Then click again to reopen it.
In this view, you see each notification summarized on a tile.
5. From the notifications panel, you can edit or delete notifications. Hover at the upper-right corner of the Open Pipeline Test notification tile, and click the arrow to drop down the menu. Select Edit.
When the panel is in edit mode, you can access additional options. Track on Analytics home page lets you set whether the notification appears on your Tableau CRM home page. Active lets you control whether Tableau CRM runs your query and sends notifications. You donโt have to delete a notification in order to stop it from running; you can save it for another time when you want to activate it.
When it comes to your test notification, you donโt need to get email about it every day, so you want to deactivate the notification.
6. Click to remove the check from the Active checkbox. Note that inactive notifications are not tracked on the Tableau CRM home page.
7. Click Save.
Follow That Dashboard
- Click below icon to open the annotations panel.

Use Annotations to Highlight Results
Note: Annotations must be set up by your Salesforce admin.
Note: For future reference, if you ever see a blue circle at the bottom of the dashboard, you can click it to see detached annotations. Annotations become detached when the widget they were attached to is deleted from the dashboard. The annotations remain, in case you need them.
